We must prioritize maintaining taxes at the lowest possible level. Certainly, municipal budgets face significant pressures from factors like inflation, provincial government reductions, employee Cost of Living Adjustments, and the carbon tax. These challenges make budget balancing difficult, but not unachievable. As a councillor, I will champion efficient spending.

You have had to go through your own budget to find cost-savings, meticulously reviewing each line item to identify areas where you can trim expenses and allocate funds more effectively. It requires a keen understanding of priorities, a careful assessment of needs versus wants, and a commitment to making tough decisions that ultimately lead to better financial health. In light of this, it is time for your town council to undertake a similar examination of its budgetary expenditures.

If elected, I plan to work closely with our town's outstanding administration to initiate a comprehensive, department-by-department search for efficiencies. This will involve a thorough analysis of each department's budget, identifying what expenses are truly essential for the functioning of our community and which ones can be classified as merely nice-to-have luxuries.

I am confident we can strike the right balance by preserving spending in crucial areas while reducing it in less important ones. Let's maintain low taxes through smart spending!
